Umbrella Bamboo Leaves are a refined botanical choice for aquarists looking to create authentic blackwater or clear-water biotope aquariums. While these leaves may appear crisp and delicate when dry, they soften and expand once submerged, taking on a fuller, more natural form within the aquarium.

With a milder tannin release compared to Catappa or Papyrus leaves, Umbrella Bamboo Leaves are ideal for aquarists who want subtle water tinting while still benefiting from natural biofilm development. Freshwater shrimp, fry, and bottom-dwelling fish readily graze on the biofilm that forms on the leaf surface, making them both decorative and functional.

These leaves naturally fall from the plant and are collected without chemical processing, preserving their structure and biological value.

Tannins Released: Medium

All our leaves are organically sourced and free from harmful pesticides.

Christopher ★★★★★

The leaves arrived surprisingly intact, not crushed like I expected from dried botanicals. Dropped three into my tank and the water took on that soft amber tint within a couple hours. My corydoras are already picking at the surface film, exactly the biotope vibe I wanted.

James ★★★★★

My betta’s been swimming through the leaf litter like it’s a jungle, and the color of the water is that perfect tea tint I was after. They sink fast enough without pre-soaking, which saves me a step every water change. Really happy with how natural the tank looks now.

Timothy ★★★★★

Tossed three leaves into my aquarium yesterday and the water already has that soft amber tint I was after for a blackwater setup. They're surprisingly sturdy once submerged, holding their shape instead of turning to mush. Perfect for giving my tetras that natural jungle feel.
