Category: Aquarium Aquatic Aquascaping Botanicals

Perfect for South American or Southeast Asian blackwater aquarium biotopes, coir comes from a widely available species found across the globe. This botanical is ideal for larger blackwater aquarium setups and for wild Betta species in the unimaculata complex, like Betta macrostoma. It’s also a crucial botanical for a Betta mahachaiensis biotope aquarium, as the fern species from which coir is derived commonly grows near brackish water, making it a natural fit for their aquarium biotope.

Avery G. ★★★★★

Tossed a couple of these into my 75 gallon and the water tinted up within a day, exactly the blackwater look I was after. They're genuinely large pieces too, not the tiny scraps I've gotten from other packs.

Isabella N. ★★★★★

Five big palm coir pieces in one pack is way more generous than I expected, and they sink within a day or two without any boiling. My 75-gallon South American setup finally has that proper blackwater look the driftwood alone never quite gave me.

Avery ★★★★★

The blackwater tint these give off is exactly what I was hoping for in my South American setup, and they've held up way longer than the almond leaves I used before. Five pieces in a pack is solid value too.
