Longan Leaves are a lesser-known but highly respected aquarium botanical in parts of Asia, where they have long been used by fishkeepers and turtle keepers as a natural conditioning aid. Often described as a cure-all leaf, Longan leaves are traditionally used to help fish recover from transport stress, balance aquarium pH, and reduce the risk of fungal or parasitic issues.

At Castle Dawn Aquatics, we regularly use Longan Leaves in quarantine tanks and holding ponds, particularly for fish that have undergone long-distance transport. In our experience, fish conditioned with Longan leaves recover faster and appear less prone to stress-related illness.

If you are searching for a botanical with properties similar to Indian Almond Leaves, but without rapid pH drops or overly dark water, Longan Leaves are an excellent alternative.

Leo F. ★★★★★

I dropped a couple of these in my betta tank and within a week the water had that soft amber tint I was after. My fish seems calmer too, hanging near the leaves instead of glass-surfing. Twenty leaves goes a long way since I only use two per water change.

Edward F. ★★★★★

I was skeptical about adding botanicals to my turtle tank, but these longan leaves have been a game changer. Each leaf is intact and durable, taking a few days to sink fully while slowly releasing tannins that gave the water a lovely amber tint. My turtles seem calmer and the water chemistry has bee

Matthew W. ★★★★☆

The leaves arrived intact and clean, which I appreciated since some botanicals I've tried before were crumbly. My water has that nice amber tint within a few hours, and the pack of 20 should last my setup a good while. Only wish the packaging had a bit more info on soaking times.
